Happy Birthday Tony – The BIG 60! – A great night out had by all – Thanks, Les, Tamzin, Evan, Rio and Bryn.
As this restaurant was fairly baby and child friendly I thought I would write a quick review to help future families with young children find easy places to eat out. We have NOT been paid by any persons for this review, or have no connection with the 'Old Gate Inn' in Canterbury.
Old Gate Inn, Canterbury, Kent, England : Located on the out skirts of Canterbury, Kent just off the A2 . From Dover it is only a short 25 minute drive about 15 miles.
We arrived at the restaurant at around 6.45pm and the large car park only had a few spaces left showing that this is a popular Saturday night restaurant – So make sure you get there early.
Overall the bar and waiting staff were very friendly, Food was of the usual type for these places, steaks, fish and chips, scampi ect. There was a nice children’s menu, salmon fishcakes, scampi or a small steak. All meals are served with chips. The food was served quickly, important when you have young children. We sat in the non-smoking restaurant, smokers are kept to the bar area.
It also has a Hotel with rooms above, but we didn't stay over, so I'm not sure what they are like.
